Premium Grade A Teak Furniture Finish

Premium Grade A Teak Furniture
& Optional Finish

Premium Grade A Teak is always offered “unfinished” and is naturally full of Teak Oil that’s rich in rubber content and insecticides naturally……..Combine that with being a very dense, tight grained wood and you have a wood that’s impervious to water…Hence your longevity of Teak outdoors in all types of weather….which is why the US Navy has used teak for the decks of their battleships…like the famous USS Missouri , for over 80 years.

To be Grade A the trees aren’t harvested  for over 40 years creating an extra Heavy concentration of Teak Oil….then Only the Hearts of the tree is used …the Quality part of the tree…

..Unlike lesser grades of teak…B & C…they’re harvested much earlier …have less teak oil …and also use the outer sap wood of the trees…where you have the most blemishes , imperfections, and knots…….along with Sap……..therefore creating the Need for this teak furniture to automatically come with a finish…..to hide the imperfections.

Teak does not require a finish……..#1 if left natural unfinished, the teak will turn to a beautiful silver patina when left out in the direct sunlight 18 hours a day… like in a Pool Setting… within a year….(the top layer of oil oxidizes in the sunlight)….. #2 If on a porch with a roof where it may only get a few hours of direct sunlight, the teak may take years to turn the silver patina……...#3 and finally if used indoors the natural unfinished teak will actually get a dark honey color in a few years.  In either case…any change in color of the teak wood doesn’t have any structural effect on the teak.

For those customers that prefer a finish we offer a water based, biodegradable UV Rays Teak Protection Finish….available in 2 colors…..Brown and Gold……..see picture of the 3 chairs below…..showing the First Chair with the Brown Finish……..the Middle Chair Unfinished and Natural……and the Third Chair in the Gold Finish.

How long will the Teak Protector Finish Last?….

…..In setting #1 …where you’re getting direct sunlight 18 hours a day…….like out by a pool……the finish will last 1-2 years depending on your preference and location… . In setting # 2….where you only get a few hours a day of direct sunlight on a porch with a roof……the finish can last for years…..4-5 or more depending on your preference and location…..In setting # 3…Indoors…….it’ll last many , many years…..again depending on your preference.
